Spot recurring words and short phrases before you revise.

Spot recurring words and short phrases before you revise. The tool works on this page without sending your input to our server. Copy results you want to keep before leaving. Inputs are not automatically saved.

How this tool works

The tool converts text to lowercase, splits it into words, and counts single words and consecutive two- and three-word phrases. It displays up to 40 entries that meet your threshold, ordered by frequency. Punctuation is removed, so a phrase can cross a punctuation boundary; review the original context before editing.

The common-word option filters entries made entirely of a small English stop-word list. It is not a grammar model. Repeated names, technical terms, and deliberate emphasis may be useful. Input is limited to 50,000 characters.

This tool compares patterns only within the text you enter. It does not search the web or check plagiarism.

Frequently asked questions

Should I remove every repeated word?

No. Consistent terminology is often clearer than a forced synonym. Edit only when the repetition distracts, duplicates a point, or weakens the explanation.

Why can a phrase appear across two sentences?

This simple tokenizer discards punctuation. Read the original sentence boundaries before deciding whether a highlighted pattern matters.
